Most of the readings are con on there, from the the seventh ad ninth century. A lot of them were completely new words. So japan was very fragmented during these years. You could get a reading in one part of the country and a reading in another one. Generally they would go to the capital. But the pital in japan was also moving. Like in the hayon period, the capital would move around. It would move into different cities. And when something bad happens, you have to pick up and move. When women were on their period, they would have move to a different place so that they didn't defile the home that they stayed in.
