MMT Is More Responsible Than Anything We Have Today
MMT is both more responsible and more sophisticated in its approach to the federal budgeting process than anything we have going on today. The tax cuts were so badly structured because the windfall went overwhelmingly to people who were never going to turn around and spend that money into the economy, well, that space is still there. People look at what's happened to the deficit because the numbers gotten so big, now almost two trillion over 10 years, and they say, oh, we used up all the space. And MMT is about saying how much space remains in the economy despite some fiscal stimulus with the tax cuts.
