CHAPTER

The Irreversible Lost Aspect

There's the irreversible lost aspect that it seems like by focusing on the long time future, we're like losing opportunities to help people. And then there's also something that just feels intolerably callous about letting people die to day for the sake of some speculative benefit that we could have in future. It feels like really rolling the dice with someone else's life. I think at the end of the day, the philosophy all comes down to your int ons as well. What is it that makes me convinced that the thing i should be doing is reducing suffering and increasing happiness? The fact we might not know whether we've succeeded makes it less visreally appealing.
