In the e u, there's a new copyright directive. It hasn't been passed yet, but it's getting close to being passed. In lewis hyde's great book, common as air, he points out that our culture is driven by ideas. But corporations are putting their ans all over the intellectual property and they want to fence it in. This idea of re-mixing and re-gathering at the heart of what we've built is not an option.
