Low earth orbit is where working satellites go. It's also where space is most congested. The team even made its own debris to fire into space and bring back. A series of experiments included two surprisingly primitive retrieval tools, a harpoon and a net. And when it hits the debris, it can effectually wrap around that satellite and grab it like a draw string bag. But could they actually work? We were very much at one shot operation. So these experiments are all done automatically. Once the automation is set in motion, we can't re run the experiment,. so we have to be very careful everything's going to be perfect first time.
