Steelkilt's Message to the Captain of the Whale Boat, Yonder Island

The captain of a ship bound for tahiti, 500 miles away, was confronted by an islander. The lakeman threatened to run the captain under water if he did not hand over his cannons and muskets. He then agreed to stay six days on the island as long as steel kilt stayed with him. In due time they were able to make it back to their original destination.
