The immune system is the name for all the parts of the body that help fight off things like harmful bacteria and viruses. A lot of it is inside our bodies, and so small that you need a powerful microscope to seei It's the immune system's job to keep us healthy, fighting off bacteria and viruses and whatever else could make us sick. If you didn't have an immune system, you'd probably die in a few days.
