Saint Mary of Egypt

Saint Mary of Egypt was a prostitute. But more than that, it seemed like she liked being a prostitute. And so she lived a very wild, dissolute lifestyle. She attempts to enter into the church of the Holy Sepulchre but experiences some kind of spiritual force that will not allow her to enter. Then after receiving absolution and communion, she goes across the Jordan and spends a lot of her life living a penitential life in the desert. The priest who found her later thinks she's an animal, because she's out there naked, she's no clothes,. realize what has just happened. He gives her community again around Easter time - which is when this story takes place
