Jewish Texts - A Staying Power

ill bohnan is asking, in a very serious way, the question that youare asking. And all i can say is that there that, you know, gam so tora, this too is tora. So part of what texts do a good texts do as they frame, they shape our consciousness. We now notice things that we didn't notice before. If a jewish text gives us now a language for thinking about something, then that somehow affects our experience of it and can alter the aspirations and the conclusions that we draw from that experience. That too should have a staying power... Texts always, always, always require and invite teachers, people who are able to help us
