The Problem With Mental Health Services in the State of North Carolina
30% of the kids that are in my juvenile detention centers today are simply waiting on a placement. We need to do a better job in the state of North Carolina providing services at home so that kids can get those services and their families can be involved in the treatment process. You also have staffing issues. You're competing with the private sector. You need folks in your department with specialized services around mental health.
