Netflix Is Getting More Movies in Theaters
The three largest theater chains agreed to play a Netflix movie because they boycotted Netflix movies. They agreed to this one week experiment a month out from the Netflix drop. And it did well. The data is now there that these movies can open if they are windowed for a month in theaters, but Netflix only did it for a week. We still don't know if putting a movie in theaters helps or hurts subscriber acquisition and churn when it comes to when it drops on the streaming service.
