The Unpreparedness of the US Military
There's always a sense that doctrine, as imagined in staff meetings within the Pentagon or other military headquarters isn't quite up to the task. We saw that in the Second World War with the Soviet Army,. we've seen it in multiple wars, since against the near peer opponents. And I wonder whether our sense that the US is unprepared is just a factor of the fact that all militaries are to a certain degree unprepared for great power conflict - and the Americans are just more open about it.
