Soybean oil is used to feed children with short gut syndrome. It was discovered in 1961 that you could use soybean oil to feed these children. And shortly thereafter, it was discovered that when you did so, it caused insulin resistance. So if you use another formulation, there's one called clinalaic, which is based on olive oil, which has much less to the problematic fat and soybean oil. They don't get this reaction; they don't become insulin resistant or hyperbolicemic.
