Researchers used an index site to look for signs of good in a hospital. They found that the maternity ward was doing well on safety, quality and other measures. The authorship group is made up of people who are sociologists of health care. But they're not themselves closely enough linked to the particular hospitals that they're talking about. And there's basically three steps to the research. Step two is branching out to see what features can be replicated elsewhere. step three is looking at how these different sights affect one another.
