The Line of Judah Goes Underground
Zedekiah was the last of the kings of the line of David until Jesus Christ establishes his reign as the promised Messiah. But from Zedekiah until Jesus, the royal line of David goes underground. This is why Ezekiel is offering this lament because he knows the promises that were made to David. And yet we know that we hold on to our Father's hand. When we have Jesus, who is our light, he brings us to the world.
