The Battle of Nanjing
On December 7, 1937, with the Japanese army marching towards the nation's capital, Zhangkai Shek and Songmei Ling left Nanjing. Madam Jiang was doing what she could to organize the defense of Nanjing. Shanghai to Nanjing today is 90 minutes by high speed rail, maybe 3 and a half hours away by car.
