The Risk of Apnea in Children After Surgery
An LMA is the next on the list in terms of providing less risk obviously because it's a super-glottic airway right but then there's also the risk of that increased secretions in causing laryngospasm. An endotracheal tube is the highest risk however I will say sometimes you will choose to actually put an endotrachea tube for the very fact that you have control of the airway so if they bronchospasm you can control it and suction them out. It pretty much takes away the risk of luringospasm at least while they're under while those surgeries happening.
