I'm surprised that you're surprised by this response, to be honest, because his contemporaneous journaling was a large part of the indictment in terms of actual new revelations beyond what we've already seen with the January 6th committee. I still think that this and every other charge brought against Trump actually is increasing his odds of becoming the Republican nominee. There's very little evidence that Pence has lied about anything, whereas there's plenty of evidence that Trump has. And so he's either lied or has been recklessly disregarding the truth.
