Say something positive or what you like about the person. Hear them out, even if it feels like they're just being pushy but then repeat your refusal. Don't open the door to unless you're willing to be persuaded. You don't have to explain yourself in that situation beyond, no, I'm sorry, but I can't. But offer alternatives if you can.
