Cuban Exiles - The FRD

The Frente or FRD was a political organization that the CIA assembled after the Cuban revolution of Cuban exiles to sort of be this government-in-waiting type deal. The recruitment effort for the Frente and the most aggressive phase of it began in the spring of 1960. No US military personnel would be allowed to be directly involved in combat. And four, creating a quote, stand-by force, preferably of non-Americans with special forces type training.
