I Know You're Not Perfect, but I Choose to Love You Anyway
When the failings come or the lack of trust or any of the shortcomings start to set in, it's so much easier to just to respond emotionally. The counterpoint to this is to say something more along these lines: I know you're not perfect, but I choose to love you anyway. We believe that's one of the main reasons marriage is the way it is. It's the way covenant is, that's the way love is designed. So within the covenants of marriage, we can love each other in a way that we see Christ and we echo very dimly, we reflect dimly the gospel through our marriage.
