Plato suggests that in fact you always knew it there was a sense in which your soul was connected to the divine world of mathematics and was just remembering what you already knew. There's an optimism in there that anyone can know this is a wonderfully optimistic idea that the young slave can do what the learned professor canwhat the learned wise philosopher can he can they can be equal in this way of coming to learn the same thing though they can both start off infant ligand they can at least correct the same kind of errors and so on.
