The Leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees

In Matthew 13, Jesus tells his disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. In 2 Samuel chapter 7, God makes a covenant oath to David: "The Lord will make you a house" The language here is drawing from expectations for a coming son of David, Messiah. So when Peter comes to Jesus and says, 'You are the Christ,' we already know what that means.
