The Flight Data Recorder Was Lost in the Fire
After an intense search and offering a reward of 500 US dollars, it was returned one week later by resident who lived near the area of the accident. The unit was delivered without the external metal case, without the underwater locator beacon device, and with signs of having been subjected to high temperatures. Small incisions or scratch marks made after the unit was subjected to fire could be seen on the reels that carry the magnetic tape.
