So I think in terms of expectations of managers as a whole, it'll vary based on the size of the team that they're responsible for or how their work is aligned. The last thing you want is a career matrix that no longer makes sense with a change in the organization. If you built something for, say, a 20 person team and now you have a 200 person team, it's probably worthwhile updating it to make sure it reflects things.
