The Relationship Between the University and the Scholarships in China

Many African students that we interviewed did not feel very protected by their university if they didn't have a good relationship with their supervisor. One of the really concerning things about COVID and the zero-COVID policy in China is that when the foreign students, the African students, left China to continue their studies from their home countries then their university fees continued to be paid. But their living stipend was not paid. And so that created huge financial pressures.
