Are We Going to Have a Universal Basic Income?

I'm probably a rarity in the what you might call the futurist community, and that i'm a fan of capitalism. A universal basic income could be a way of adjusting capitalism to deal with automation. But if if we get it right, ah, then lots of goods and services will become so cheap, they'll be virtually free because they're automated. Then the market economy comes perhaps irrelevant, or perhaps dangerous. And we don't know what it is. The models that we have at the moment, like socialism, communism, feudalism and any other type of economy we've tried are almost certainly not going to work. So we've got some thinking to do.
