Is It a Good Thing That We Have Private Tree Collectors?
The idea of these things starting almost as a vanity project in a sense like somebody having an obsession I can sort of see it. Now we have some international protocols in place so that we don't have what do you call it like bio prospecting right? There's some agricultural safety regulations about what should be coming in and out crossing borders, but it is still possible to go on seed collecting trips around the worldyou just need permits. In other words, yeah they may be only growing in the wild in this one remote place, but anybody with a little money to spend can go buy one.
