How to Quit Playing Music

Did you ever play an instrument? I took piano for a number of years when I was a kid and then, uh, quit. Then started up again when I first came out to L.A. And just kind of taught myself to just play the stuff that I wanted to learn. So like my sight reading is terrible. But if I give me a week and there's a piece of music that I like, I can usually, you know, learn it well enough to pretend like I can play better than I can. Do you ever sit down to write music?
