The Paradox of Denial
The public is encouraged to think or adopt the view that there is significant doubt or uncertainty about climate change. Often, often those narratives appeal to what in other contexts are just obvious epistemic virtues. I mean it's sort of parasitic on a pretty attractive conception of what good critical, sincere, scrutinizing autonomous citizens should be doing, and somehow subverts it, right? It gets a lot of its charge precisely from that sort of claim.
