Is There a Competition for Machine Learning?

What I want to see in academia is there's all these competitions, all these benchmarks for all right, here's the data set. How good can you make your model? And multitask learning is kind of step one to lifelong learning. And I think there's still like we still need to have some novelty. On the optimization side and regularization side and memory side to keep knowledge around.
