Airway and Blood Pressure Management in Acute Ischemic Stroke

Acute ischemic stroke is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Intensive care management of strokes is focused on reducing complications related to reperfusion treatment and decreasing secondary neurological injury. In this episode of Critical Matters, we will discuss the critical care management of acute ischemic strokes. Our guest is Dr. Sayona John, Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush Medical College. She is a practicing neurointensivist and also serves as the Head of the Section of Critical Care Neurology and Medical Director of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit & Neuroemergency Transfer programs at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
