Tense mistakes students make ALL THE TIME and how to avoid them

Confident Business English

CHAPTER

The Importance of Past Tense in Business English

In business English, the most common time I see this mistake is when people are talking about things or entities. So be careful when you're using entities or things in the present tense. The biggest mistake with the past tense is that people just don't use it when they are talking about past events and descriptions. If you say work in rather than work on, I can forgive you whatever we move on. It's not the end of the world. But if you say something like he coming to the meeting, we've got a serious problem there because that's a tense that we use all the time. That mistake is quite obvious and it just doesn't flow. It doesn't sound great.
