The Importance of Honesty in Polling
People might actively be lying to the pollsters for a whole bunch of reasons, which would make polling quite unscientific. It's a new phenomenon, so far as I know, people being embarrassed or concerned about how they might be viewed by the pollster. This is, this goes some way to explaining why polls are no longer completely reliable.
