Never look a gift horse in the mouth. This seems stupid to me. You can look at a horse wherever you want. It's your horse. I don't see why you can't look. Don't you want to know what you're dealing with? See if it needs some dental care. If someone looks you in the eyes, that's going to drive you into some sort of battle fury. The bazooka wins.
