Can a Solar Flare Scatter the Earth?
The biggest solar flare that we know of was the Carrington event in 1859. It left radioactive or isotopes of iron on the surface of the earth and on the ocean floor. Our sun, luckily, is a very quiet sun, but if it was to be much more active, and it could be, but luckily it's not at the moment.
