There is a selection bias with severity of illness and starting an s s ar ri. The more severe the illness, the greater the likelihood that you'll get started on medication. Some people have hypothesized that we actually see a boost of energy before we see improvement in suicidal thinking. So this could be another reason for the black box warning.
