The current level of interest rates is too high for the US government to really be self-funding. We're unable to be able to survive at this level of interest rate, he says. As the dollar has gained strength, you've seen the trade deficits of Japan and Europe just explode as they increasingly are reliant on the U.S. To me, that hits on many of the themes that other guests have talked about, things like nuclear, etc. The simple reality is that we have to move in that direction on a global basis but not yet.
