I do not know how it is possible to extend credit with a fixed supply system. And I think that's a good idea except at extremely high interest rates. What banks do is that they allow us to pool social risk taking refractional reserve banking does. The alternative is that credit dries up, except for people who already have a lot of money. So that's the crux of my argument that you can't have this fixed reserve system based on gold or Bitcoin and maintain societal wide access to credit.
