Top Down Development Is the Most Risky Way of Working
I tend to favor top down development because it's the least risky way of working in my view. An acceptance test forces you to think about what all this system do from the outside in. You then use that as a North Star to guide your efforts. So I would definitely plug Steve Freeman and that book growing object or into software go by tests.
