The Comparison of Landlords and Big Tech
At the end of 2019, Google had 19 data center facilities, 11 in the US, five in Europe, two in Asia, one in South America. In comparison, digital Realty had 225 data center facilities and 36.6 million rentable square feet. Even if every Google data center is among the world's largest, totaling more than a million square feet, they still would not touch the square footage of digital Realty. What about the breadth of their networks? We can approximate this by the number of network connections, Equinix,.
