The earth is bombarded with many orders of magnitude more energy than we could possibly need if we could figure out a way to harness it. I think the humankind's ability to access sufficient primary energy is more a question of politics than even technology or finances. The reason we don't today are largely political. There's no serious technological challenges to the vast rollout of nuclear power. But having said that, I'd be curious to learn if we all had abundant energy, what would be the next sort of zero in the geometric mean of resources we'd run out of that would be necessary for society to thrive. And Domburg, sorry, Romanes, in the denominator is carbon emissions.
