PTP
The way PTP works is that the grandmaster sends a sync message to everyone. The client receives it and then sends back a multicast request for delay time. And when the grandmaster receives that, it sends out another multicast response. It's actually quadratic. That is not usually a recipe for good algorithmic complexity.
