I think what we are seeing in British politics is the pace of change is so rapid that although we think things are set for a very long time they're not. On the Tory side there is clearly a sense that they are probably looking at 10 years in power and possibly longer anything can happen but it looks like a safe bet. If you'd said even six months before the election that Jeremy Corbyn would win it if you remember he had to be sort of squeezed onto the ballot paper by people doing him a favour you'd have been laughed out of court.
