Awareness of the Impulse to Do Things
When you become aware of the arising dialogue in your mind, and if you should say it or not, that's really where that mindfulness gap appears. You more skilfully, if anything at all, like what the moment actually calls for, as supposed to been drawn into a further detachment and distraction of that panic and anxiety state. A with that level of clarity and self awareness and an intentionality, you can then feel that feeli arising, and then actually examine and know what you're going to say. H but with that deeper level of mindful awareness, you then, like the same awareness of the impulse to do a physical action. I suppose they're just doing it.
