Use Sarcasm to Express Your Feelings

The first part of a misdirecting statement is what people expect, politeness. The whole effect is to send a powerful message that you don't take yourself or the topic at hand all that seriously. Sarcasm functions like a social cue, both our ways to express something without having to explicitly say it. If you really feel X about a topic, then use misdirection. Opposite of X will almost always be received far better than, gosh, I hate X.
