Sperm can live outside the body for quite a long time and nothing can happen to it. The sperm washed to get the sperm sparkling clean takes about 30 minutes. When you're in the IUI room, I ask my patients, do you want to put your headphones on or listen to a song so that things can be as romantic as possible? And then I also ask the partner if they want to push the end of the syringe,. So it's a group effort, everyone's involved and everyone's having as relaxed of a time as possible.
