Are We Building Relational Outlets to Do Relational Work?
Only ten per cent of young people said that a faith leader had reached out to them. This points to the way that our systems of doing religion are set up, which is that they're largely set up to do really good work inside of particular institutional constraints. We just haven't built very good relational outlets to be able to do relationships tat scale yet. And i think that's what you see in the data point, which is also heart breaking,. Through most of christian history, the role of the pastor, or any minister, was to spend his or her time outside the church building and engaging with people in their communities.
