The Importance of Transparency in Syndication
The residuals issue is one of the things that needs to be sorted through. And I think you and I as journalists would also love if these media companies were more transparent about their viewership. We've gotten some, we get Netflix at the top 10 lists and Nielsen publishes a weekly list of the 10 most popular shows. But it's unlikely that any of these companies are going to suddenly release a ton of data unless there was such a shock to the system where they felt like they had to.
