The Relationship Between Shabbat and God

Shabbat is a sign between us and God, the Mishkan says. It doesn't say throughout our generations, this is throughout our eras. But what it makes me think of is maybe it's not like, I don't have a huge problem with God killing people. And using day four as a way of looking at Shabbat as something that orients us in time specifically.
